Visiting a church for the first time can sometimes be awkward, especially since you don’t know where everything is or where you might “fit”. You will find a diverse group here at NHBC, from younger families, to newlyweds, to retirees, and from all walks of life. The common denominator here is the Lord Jesus Christ, love for His words, and the desire to make a difference in the world for Him.
If you are visiting with us and you want to know more about what it means to be saved, we invite you to click here.
If you are a born again child of God, the Lord created us for HIS PLEASURE, and that includes finding a place in a Bible believing local church to serve Him and to be involved. Here are some areas of ministry for you and your family, both to be fed spiritually and to potentially be involved:
If you are needing transportation to come visit with us, please feel free to reach out and let us know as Bro Mark Davies assists with running our church van to pick up all those in need of transportation.
Nursery is provided for ages 0 to 3, which is split between infants and those that are mobile. During our Sunday School hour, for the older ones in nursery, we have a class for them so that they understand church is a time to learn about God from his word in a clean, fun, and safe environment. Our nursery volunteers and children’s ministry workers all undergo a thorough screening process, and they undergo CPR/First Aid Certification.
Little Explorers – Mrs. Debbie Smith, who oversees our Nursery Department, ensures that each week children ages 2-3 years old are taught the word of God through song, Bible/character lesson, and play time during our 10 am Sunday School hour.
Little Climbers – Miss Ashley Trout teaches our children at the K4 & K5 Level during our 10 am Sunday School hour. They get to enjoy a wonderful time of songs, Bible stories, crafts, and fun with children their age.
Jr. Mountaineers – Mrs. Angie Hollingworth teaches our children from 1st to 3rd grade. They enjoy Bible memory/prize time, Bible study, projects, singing, etc., all aimed at their level of understanding. They are also being taught how to contribute and be part of a Bible believing church and family.
Mountaineers – Mrs. Deenia Granados teaches our children from 4th to 6th grade. They enjoy Bible memory/prize time, Bible study, projects, singing, etc., all aimed at their level of understanding. They are also being taught how to contribute and be part of a Bible believing church and family.
The Prospectors – Our Youth (7th grade 12th grade) are currently in the Adult Sunday School where Pastor Adrian is teaching. The lessons will be deep enough for our adults and relative enough for our young people, because the Bible, when taught literally is exactly that - DEEP & RELATIVE to all! Our young people enjoy fellowship with each other both at church and outside of church as well.
Nursing Home Ministry
Once a month our church gets together on a Sunday afternoon to visit at the Life Care Centers of Aurora to hold a church service for those who cannot make it out to our church. We seek to serve those who have already served our communities in years gone by, raised families, and some have served the Lord, but are now at a place in life where there is little they can get out to do. Our desire is to bring the Gospel to those there who need to hear it desperately, and encourage those believers that need a reminder that it’s never too late to serve the Lord.
Public Evangelism / Outreach
Our church membership are encouraged and as a church we are involved in publicly taking the Gospel to the streets and neighborhoods of Aurora through several means. If you have never been involved, this is a great way to learn how to share your faith! We believe in 20/20 vision as laid out in Acts 20:20 - And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house.
Men’s & Ladies Bible Study
Our men and ladies get together periodically for Bible study aimed specifically for our men and ladies respectively.
Our media team sees to it that all of our messages and all of our Bible studies are recorded and go online, in addition to ensuring that all congregational and special music is heard throughout. All messages and musical specials can be found on our YouTube channel as well.
We are blessed to pray for, financially support, and be a part of the ministries of Bible believing missionaries worldwide. While we do not preach it as "the only way" to support missions, our church believes in FAITH PROMISE giving to support the needs of global missions.
Vacation Bible School is a great annual opportunity for our kids and the kids in our community to come together for fun activities, singing, friendly competition, and a Gospel themed week together.
